Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Rubbish Clearance Chelsea is committed to conducting business ethically, responsibly, and in full respect of human rights. This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
We operate a clear and uncompromising zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not tolerate any form of exploitation within our own activities or in the practices of any third party that supplies goods or services to us.
All directors, managers, employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to uphold this position. We require that everyone working with or for Rubbish Clearance Chelsea acts with integrity and in accordance with our values, relevant laws, and this statement. Any suspicion or evidence of modern slavery will be treated as a serious breach of our standards and may result in termination of contracts, reporting to the relevant authorities, and other appropriate actions.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Rubbish Clearance Chelsea provides waste and rubbish clearance services. Our activities rely on a network of suppliers and contractors, including transport providers, equipment suppliers, and recycling and disposal facilities. We recognise that risks of modern slavery can exist at different points in the waste management and logistics sectors, particularly where there is a high demand for low-skilled or temporary labour.
We are committed to understanding these risks and taking practical steps to prevent and address them. We seek to work only with suppliers and partners who share our values and who can demonstrate responsible labour practices and respect for human rights.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are strengthening our supplier due diligence processes to minimise the risk of modern slavery in our supply chain. Our approach includes:
Assessing new suppliers for their labour practices, working conditions, and policies relating to modern slavery before we enter into any ongoing relationship.
Requiring suppliers, where appropriate, to confirm that they comply with all applicable labour and human rights laws and that they do not engage in modern slavery or human trafficking.
Conducting periodic reviews and, where necessary, audits of key suppliers to evaluate their compliance with our expectations. These reviews may include requests for documentation, on-site visits, or other verification steps, proportionate to the size and risk profile of the supplier.
If any supplier is found to be involved in modern slavery or unable or unwilling to meet our standards, we will take corrective action, which may include requiring improvements within a defined timeframe or ending the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
We encourage employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to raise any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be reported to a manager, a senior leader, or directly to our central office by telephone, email, or in writing.
All reports will be handled sensitively and, where possible, confidentially. We will not tolerate any retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. Every report will be investigated, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness among our staff about modern slavery risks and our expectations. Relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, and frontline operations, will receive guidance and training so they can recognise potential signs of exploitation and know how to respond.
We will keep our internal guidance under review and update it as needed to reflect emerging risks, best practice, and any changes in legislation.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We will review this Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement at least once every year to assess its effectiveness and to identify areas for improvement.
As part of our annual review, we will consider feedback from staff, suppliers, and stakeholders, as well as any incidents or concerns raised during the year. We will refine our procedures, due diligence, and training to strengthen our approach and further reduce the risk of modern slavery within our organisation and supply chains.
This statement is approved by the leadership of Rubbish Clearance Chelsea and reflects our continuing commitment to fairness, dignity, and respect for every individual whose work supports our business.
